what we are about
Tendel Group is a not for profit, charitable organization that works with small villages in Amdo Tibetan areas of Qinghai Province in China. We provide remote villages with solar cookers, help to provide tuition and access to basic education for children of nomads, and scholarships for higher education for children of impoverished families. All of our projects are initiated at the grassroots level and are carried out by local Tibetan project directors.
Tendel Group has no religious or political agenda or affiliation. Tendel Group, Inc. is organized as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation.
what Tendel means
Tendel is a Tibetan word with multiple meanings. Most importantly, it refers to interdependent connectedness and origination, an idea central to the Buddhist theory of casality. In everyday language, it also means a celebration and any sort of auspicious sign or link. The dedicated volunteers of Tendel Group come together around this very idea - linking resources to need in Tibetan areas in China.
